La reconstrucción después de la tormenta Sandy ha sido lenta para algunas personas en Nueva Jersey, especialmente las más desfavorecidas. Misión Nueva Vida ha trabajado desde 2015 para ayudar a las personas que viven en el Parque Metropolitano de Casas Móviles, en Moonachie, donde las inundaciones continúan dañando casas de familias inmigrantes hispano-latinas, y donde hace mucha falta el dinero. Tres casas móviles han sido arregladoa y levantadas, y pronto se completará una cuarta.

미국장로교 총회 사무국의 기술 관리자인 비센테 구나Vicente Guna는 환경 시스템 연구소 (ESRI)의 스토리 맵 부문에서 "이주민의 창세기"로 2위를 수상했다.

매년 연례 컨벤션에서 ESRI는 올해 최고의 디지털 매핑 프로젝트에 대한 상을 수여한다. "출애굽의 창세기"는 5개의 카테고리에서 거의 1,000개나 되는 출품작 중에서 선정되었다. Guna는 ESRI의 설립자 겸 CEO인 Jack Dangermond로부터 상을 받기 위해 7월 13일 San Diego로 향하였다.

1980 년대 중반, 워싱턴 주 타코마에 있는 트리니티 장로교회는 문을 닫을 상황에 있었고, 올림피아 노회는 당회에게 교회를 정리할 것을 고려하도록 안내하였다.

마약, 범죄, 갱단이 교회가 위치한 이웃 지역에 영향을 미쳤다. 소수의 신실한 교인들은 예배에 참석하며 교회 건물을 유지하기 위해 애를 썼다.

An estimated 40 to 50 African American clergy gathered on Capitol Hill on Tuesday to speak out against what they call “the immoral” budget proposed by President Donald Trump as well as the “unjust” health bill that currently hangs in limbo. The group of ministers, including the Rev. Jimmie Hawkins with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Office of Public Witness, spoke at a news conference before heading to various senate and congressional offices.

Vicente Guna, manager of technologies for the Office of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), has won a second place award for his story map, “The Genesis of Exodus,” from the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI).

Each year at its annual convention, ESRI presents awards for the best digital mapping projects of the year. “The Genesis of Exodus” was selected for its award from among nearly 1,000 entries in five categories. Guna was present in San Diego on July 13 to receive his award from Jack Dangermond, ESRI’s founder and CEO.

The group is in the middle of a three-day retreat in St. Paul, Minnesota and stepped away from the conference room to learn about local mission outreach and church expansion.

Sponsored by Racial Ethnic & Women’s Ministries, the assembly of multicultural young adults ages 19-35 included individuals with ethnic backgrounds from five continents.

In the mid-1980s, Trinity Presbyterian Church in Tacoma, Washington, was on life support, and Olympia Presbytery had begun nudging the session to consider pulling the plug.

Drugs, crime, and gangs had infested the church’s deteriorating neighborhood. A handful of loyal members attended worship and struggled to maintain the church building.

“But something surprising happened,” says the church’s current pastor, Matt Robbins-Ghormley. “Resurrection happened.” As he describes it, the congregation went from being “on the brink of extinction” to becoming energized through mission in the community.

Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement (CCI) hosts its annual convention tomorrow and expects nearly 1,000 people from across the state to share concerns facing family farms. CCI was organized in 1975 when a handful of clergy began working on housing, crime and safety, and other urban concerns. When the 1980s Farm Crisis hit, they expanded the work throughout rural Iowa to support farmers by helping them obtain nearly $37 million in desperately needed credit. The Presbyterian Hunger Program (PHP) supported that work financially for a number of years.
