First Presbyterian Church new pastor is coming - Rev. Kim Rodrigue 1st day in the office will be Tuesday, June 27 and her 1st sermon will be Sunday, July 2. You are welcome to come by and introduce yourself to our new pastor before Sunday, I am sure she would love to get to know you before her first preaching.
Rev. Kim Rodrigue is a native New Orleanian, born at the old Baptist Hospital and reared in Lakeview and Metairie. She came from a family with a Presbyterian mother, Roman Catholic father, Southern Baptist grandmother, and Jewish grandfather. Somehow the Presbyterian part won out! She was a member of Metairie Ridge throughout childhood. She graduated from Grace King High School, Rhodes College in Memphis, TN (with a major in International Studies), and Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA. Since then, she has served churches in Nashville, Washington, DC, and Arlington, VA. Rev. Rodrigue has also worked at the Presbyterian Conference Center in New Mexico and served as a hospital chaplain in Nashville.
Rev. Rodrigue enjoys working with many different sorts of people and helping them identity their common focus and passion. She also like hiking, traveling, reading, cooking, and cheering for the New Orleans Saints.
Rev. Rodrigue is married to Ann Philbrick, also a Presbyterian minister. They have a handsome and sweet dog named Boudreaux. She says she is excited to begin ministry with you at the end of this month!
Children’s Sunday School for the summer will begin after the sermon each Sunday.
