Worship Bulletin - April 2, 2017 Sermon “Resurrection Happens” elder, Tracy Rene’ Helms-Capasso

Sunday, April 2 @ 4pm-7pm, at First Presbyterian Church in the sanctuary. Screening of Netflix Documentary ‘13th’. In collaboration with New Orleans Council for Community & Justice, we're hosting a movie screening of the documentary ‘13th’ in the sanctuary followed by a discussion afterwards as to how to move forward in the world doing good and resisting the draconian/fascist policies of the current administration. The film is based around the enforcement of the 13th Amendment, which formally abolished slavery, except as punishment for a crime. The documentary ‘13th’ explores the intersection of race, justice, and mass incarceration. It analyzes the criminalization of African Americans and the US prison boom. Netflix has rated the film TV-MA. There will be food available for a $5 donation.

Come join one of the Book Groups - The book reading and discussion will be:
