worship bulletin - Sunday, August 2, 2015 - Sermon “The Bread Trick”, Rev. Fred J. Powell, III

Youth Gathering Pool Party - Saturday, August 8 from 1-4, located at 754 Florida Blvd, New Orleans 70124 - My name is Tracy Rene Helms-Capasso and I am from First Presbyterian Church in New Orleans. "l have a dream" of forming a greater New Orleans youth fellowship with you. I am excited about doing this because I know my youth group involvement was very helpful to me as a teenager.  I have a date and time for a first gathering and hope you will help me spread the word to as many youth and their parents as you can.

“Bookoo Rueda” Cuban Salsa – Will return Sunday, August 8. They meet every Sunday of the month from 6pm – 10pm in the Fellowship Hall. Come and join them for some fun salsa dancing. Admission is free.

SQUARE DANCING – Will return Monday, August 10. They will meet for instructions and live music every 2nd Monday of the month at 7:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. Admission is $5.00 and enjoy some red beans and rice for $2.00 and square dance your heart away.

Katrina Remembrance weekendparty Saturday, August 29 and worship service Sunday, August 30. The party on Saturday August 29 will be at 7pm and take place at Dee and Randy Boling's house at 6522 Argonne Blvd. This once annual event, hosted in the years immediately following Katrina, will provide a safe space for both tears and laughter. Join us for shared commemorative fellowship as we recognize the 10th Anniversary of Katrina and the Levee Failures. All are welcome! This event is open to all whether you lived here before Katrina or not; whether you flooded or not, or whether you mourn what we've lost, or celebrate what we've gained. The event will focus on the resilience of First Presbyterian Church of New Orleans and its members. By being together, we join our individual strengths to form an unbreakable bond that will lift us up in spirit and in love. Worship on Sunday, August 30 will have moved from Lament for what was, to a celebration of what is becoming…and a few fun surprises are in store.

ECOrecycling--an easy way to give to FPCNO! - The FUNdraising Committee of First Pres is starting a recycling fundraiser! There’s nothing to buy (isn't that awesome!). We are simply asking you to protect the environment by donating your used consumer electronics and unwanted, broken or mismatched jewelry. Your used item(s) may be tax deductible and will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations. 100% of the proceeds will help fund First Pres. We will be collecting the following items: Cell Phones, Ink Jet Printer Cartridges, Laptops and Netbooks, iPads and Tablets, iPods, Digital Cameras, Metals (Gold, Silver and Platinum--not costume jewelry). So start cleaning out those drawers and closets!

Goodsearch.com is a website powered by Yahoo - that serves as a search domain for charities.  If you use this website and designate First Presbyterian Church of New Orleans, we will get compensated for every search that takes place. If you're able to set Goodsearch.com as your home page, you’ll start using it regularly, and FPCNO will benefit from it! Don’t forget to add it to your phone, home computer and other mobile devices. You can also shop with Goodshop.com or the Goodshop App, and for every purchase, a percentage will go to the church. Every little bit helps. And Goodsearch tracks how much we have earned at the top left of the page, so check it out!  Thanks, Your FUNdraising Committee.
