worship bulletin - Sunday, March 22, 2015 - Sermon -“Something Old, Something New”, Rev. Fred J. Powell, III

About the Affirmation for Sunday, March 22 - The Confession of 1993, (Presbyterian Church of New Zealand). The Presbyterian Church was established in New Zealand in 1840. Since then it has moved from being a Church for white, Scottish settlers to an ethnically diverse Church that integrates orthodoxy with a utilization of the gifts of South Pacific culture and reverence for creation which is very much a part of “Aotearoa” (The native Maori name for New Zealand.) This affirmation of faith seeks not only to tie together the work of God-with-us, but to also identify the gifts that God gives us through faith.

Join us in blessing Aya and Rodolfo Alvarez! After worship service this Sunday - Aya Alvarez (née Aya Amagavin) has served this church faithfully for the past years providing beautiful music and a bright smile every Sunday she is here…Rodolfo has also faithfully supported this church! We are thrilled to bless THEM with music this morning , as we sing “The Grace of Life is Theirs” in their honor this morning, and hold a reception after worship in honor of their wedding which was a month or so ago here in New Orleans. You are also invited to contribute to the love offering we are taking up for them. Please give your cash and checks (made out to FPCNO) to Claire Trimble.
