5.  Our Annual Costume Contest and Movie Night will be on Saturday October 24thThe following donations are needed:  gently used children's costumes, small prizes for the contest, candy, and snacks.  If you would like to  sponsor a child to attend the movie night festivities you can donate $5 per child and a homeless child will be able to enjoy the fun.

6.  Volunteer your time to help with the costume contest and movie night. We need volunteers to help children without costumes get ready using our donated costumes.  You can also help set up and cleanup after the movie night. Contact: Kristy Ruppel at pumpkins.fpcno@gmail.com or Cheryl Roberts  at cherylcookie@hotmail.com for more information.

7.  SHARE!  Share the invitation to do all this with your family, friends, and co-workers!  The more help we have the more success we can enjoy.

Looking for Captains for the Saints Day’s Party! - We are continuing our tradition of cheering on the Saints at a Potluck today after church. But we need your help to set up and clean up after the party, so we are asking for volunteers to be "Captain for a Day” to help us with these task. Floor and Pew repairs, courtesy of Carr Stone of New Orleans!!! - This past week an entire crew of workmen dismantled the sanctuary, cleaning and professionally polishing the marble until it gleams; taking apart and repairing antique pews that had split and needed to be reattached to the floor; cleaning and repairing and painting the floor grates. This ambitious project is the gift of Mr. Randy Powell (no relation to the pastor) and his company, Carr Stone, and was done for the Glory of God and in honor of his daughter and son in law who was married in this sanctuary this past Saturday, September 26, 2015.

Adopt a Family - We have teamed up with the Salvation Army to provide the many families which reside there the opportunity to come and be a part of the costume contest and a chance to come to movie night. (if, you have any old or new costumes for ages 8 and under), PLEASE give them to us. We will distribute them to the many families with small children on  Wed. Oct. 21 morning. Also, if you could purchase a pass for a family to come to movie night (tickets are $5.00 each)

FALL PRESBYTERY MEETING at FPCNO — October 16-17 - It is a great honor for First Presbyterian to host the two day Fall Presbytery meeting. We will be opening our doors to over 100 visitors from nearly 60 churches from all over South Louisiana. This is our best shot to show how special and welcoming this congregation is; show how important our survival is to the Presbytery because of our mission, our commitment to diversity and our leadership; and to say thank you for all the things that Presbytery has provided for us over the years; direct funding, building improvements, leadership and fellowship. But we need YOU to help make this weekend run smoothly.

You are invited: Moderator’s Reception/Cuban Salsa Party Friday, October 16 pm, 7:pm in the Fellowship Hall. Presbytery weekend events kick off with the Moderator’s Reception celebrating the National Presbyterian Cuba Partnership. Visitors from all over the US and Caribbean will be joining members of Presbytery for a Cuban dance party at FPCNO. We will need help setting up tables and doing some decorating that Friday afternoon, and cleaning up afterwards to prepare for the big meeting the next day in the Fellowship Hall

Volunteers Needed October 17 - • We need breakfast bakery items (preferably homemade) and fruit for about 100 people for Saturday morning October 17.

• We need about 12 volunteers to help Justin Wood prepare and serve food. We also need up setting up (after the Salsa party Friday night) and breaking down tables (1 pm on Saturday) and perhaps some help about 3pm to pack up the Presbytery sound system and  tables in the sanctuary and do a quick cleaning before a 6 pm wedding.
