News from the Worship Committee - Hymn of the Month

The purple hymnals are a terrific resource full of new songs, and we want to start singing some of them! We have a plan to help familiarize the congregation with new hymns. We are beginning Hymn of the month program. During worship the new-to-us-hymn will be played as the prelude or other interlude music as often as it fits in. One week the choir will sing the hymn as the anthem, inviting the congregation to sing along aka a "congregational anthem." The following week the hymn will be featured as one of the standard 3 hymns during the service.  Then we plan for that hymn to be ready for a more regular inclusion in worship.

Our first Hymn of the Month is an easy one- you might already know it but you have not heard it at FPCNO! Somebody’s Knocking at Your Door, hymn #728
