Pastor Kim: Connecting over Coffee

New weekly off-site coffee shop office hours: Tuesdays from 7am to 9am and Thursdays from 9am to 11am, for conversation on anything from personal matters to church concerns to world peace – or anything else.

Sometimes people are more comfortable talking with a pastor outside of the walls of a church. This is your time to drop by or to bring a friend to visit. You don't have to have a particular need to stop by, but it is fine if you do.

Welcome to Rev. Kim Rodrigue

July 2 we had a wonderful worship service welcoming Rev. Kim Rodrigue and her partner Ann Philbrick to our congregation.  The children gave some suggestions on New Orleans points of interest- good snowball stands: Plum St and Lou Lou's, pizza: Midway Pizza, and you can't overlook our favorite park, City Park.  The members, wearing nametags, presented Rev. Kim with some welcoming gifts- a book of the congregation's history, our self published cookbook, and recording of the organ centennial concert.

A Special Wedding Celebration!

Congratulations to De'antra and Anthony! It was an extra special occasion FPC because the mother of the bride was our long time office manager and church family member Cheryl Roberts. We were so happy to be part of this celebration, and we can't wait to share a few more photos when the professional photographer has them ready. We love you Cheryl and the whole family! Best Wishes to the happy couple for many happy years together.

Minus One Oak Tree, Thankfully No Injuries and Minor Damage

Early yesterday morning, one of the large oak trees along the Claiborne side of the church collapsed into the playground. We are happy to report that no one was in the area at the time and there were no reported injuries. The building was not touched by the tree collapse. (Praise the Lord!) The fence along Claiborne was only slightly damaged but was taken down further during the tree removal process.
