Deacons
The Deacons of First Presbyterian a focus on greeting newcomers, membership development, visiting the sick, and being alert to the spiritual needs of the congregation.
First Presbyterian of New Orleans Board of Deacons is composed of 3 classes of elders consisting of two or three members elected by the congregation to serve three-year terms. These terms are staggered so that elders retire from the board each year, and newly-elected elders joining the Deacons each year.
The Board of Deacons meets on a monthly basis to carry out its responsibilities for congregational care and nurturing of the church.
The Board of Deacons consists of the pastor and the elders in active service.
The Chairperson of the Board of Deacons is David Capasso.
