The youth of the church will hold a public showing of the film The Shack (PG-13) on August 12, 2017. The event will be held in the Fellowship Hall (second flood, to the right) at 5:00pm, with a suggested donation of $3 per person.
Childcare for children 12 and under will also be provided for $2 per child.
Concessions will be available.
The Shack is a 2017 film based on the 2007 novel of the same name. Our congregation read the book in 2010, forming small book clubs to discuss the book. The film combines tragedy with hope in the story of a bereft man who drives to a cabin in the woods hoping to find his daughter’s killer. Once there, he meets three strangers who gradually reveal their identities. The film stars Sam Worthington, Octavia Spencer, Graham Greene, Aviv Alush, Tim McGraw, and Alice Braga. The film has grossed $96.2 million and the book has sold well over 10 million copies.
