Yes, it's Transfiguration Sunday in the rest of the world, but in New Orleans it's The Sunday Before Mardi Gras. The session looked at all the folks in our congregation who are riding or marching in parades, are hemmed into their neighborhoods by parades, or just plain going to parades, and said, "No, not this week." See you on Ash Wednesday, February 18, from 9 to 10 a.m. or 5 to 6 p.m. for a brief service and the imposition of ashes.
