Welcome to First Presbyterian Church in New Orleans!

We are a church with a rich history. Feel free to browse our website and discover more about us. First Presbyterian is an open and affirming congregation that welcomes and encourages all to join us in worship. We are affiliated with the PC(USA).

We are a More Light Congregation and a member of the Covenant Network of Presbyterians. We welcome all people, all races, and all sexual orientations.

Church phones are out!

Possibly due to a lightning strike, the church's phones at 504-866-7409 are not working. We will have to purchase new phones. Until we get them set up, you may get an electronic voice mail answering the phone if you call. Please don't leave a message, as we have no way of retrieving it! Please send an email to the church at info@fpcno.org. We'll post a notice when the phones are up again.

Youth Sunday!

The youth of First Presbyterian Church led the worship service on Pentecost, Sunday, May 19, 2024. They created the worship liturgy themselves. Catch it on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/fpcno/

The video will be available for the next 30 days, until June 18, 2024.

We'll be installing new officers on the session, thanking an officer whose term is ending, and having cake and ice cream (it's National Ice Cream Month!) after the service. Join us! All are welcome!

Worship Service CANCELED for July 2, 2023

In the middle of a heat emergency in the City of New Orleans, the sanctuary air conditioning has gone out. Never fear, it is fixable! But in the meantime, the temperature in the sanctuary hovers between 88 and 90 degrees.

As a result, the session has voted to cancel the worship service on Sunday, July 2. We plan to reopen on Sunday, July 9 for worship and communion at 11:00 a.m.

The Program of Hope is still scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 5 at 9:00 a.m. in the sanctuary to provide services to the community.
